At The RanchWelcome to the Keystone West Ranch (KWR). Our little valley of meadows, streams, and forest is nestled in the mountains of Summit County, Colorado. We are surrounded by Swan Mountain (to the south), Keystone West Ridge (to the east), and Tenderfoot Mountain (to the north). Within the valley, our KWR immediate neighbors include:
From our valley at 9,200 ft elevation, we enjoy spectacular views of the Mount Guyot, Bald Mountain (aka 'Baldy'), Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness, the Gore range, and the continental divide... all over 13,000' elevation. The valley forest and meadows support a wide variety of our other 'neighbors' … specifically our wildlife. Here are just a few examples:
They all thrive in our sage meadows and high altitude native forest of Engelman spruce, Subalpine fir, Lodgepole pine, and aspen. RecreationWithin the ranch, we enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, golfing, wildlife viewing, social gatherings, photography, pickleball, and a bit of dark sky astronomy. KWR Additional DetailsThe formal "Keystone Ranch/West Ranch Planned Unit Development Designation" was filed in 1977 with amendments in 1981, 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1993.
